Empowering Voice of the Community (EVOC) was established in 2018. The initiative originated in the target communities during field activities, where its founders observed the need to help marginalized youth and women achieve self‑sustainability, starting with Kibera slums.
After problem identification and prioritization, programs were developed to support these youth, structured based on priority needs and demand from the community. We have a professional, experienced team committed to ensuring our projects focus on equipping marginalized youth and women with skills and knowledge that enhance their capacity to engage in meaningful socio‑economic activities.
To create a conducive environment for the marginalized youth and women in Nairobi slums to be self‑sustainable, through socio‑economic empowerment.
We are committed to empowering marginalized youth and women through non‑formal education, entrepreneurship, skills training, and support — making us the partner of choice for poverty reduction, social equity, and development out of ignorance.
Through education, skills training, health awareness and talent nurturing, EVOC transforms lives in Kibera and beyond. Each program directly addresses the needs of illiterate youth, unemployed women, and vulnerable groups.
Engaging illiterate youth and women in literacy classes to impart knowledge that improves living standards. Education is the ultimate weapon against poverty.
Bridging the gap between lack of formal education and labour market entry. We equip youth and women with technical, vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
Reducing risky behaviour, HIV, and SRH-related morbidity through awareness and education among youth, women and the wider community.
